The biggest advantage to building a computer from scratch is the selection of parts. Most computer systems come pre-built with the specifications and components already selected for you, therefore, you may have to sacrifice certain features or requirements that you want, and spend more on features that are included but you don’t need. By building a computer from components, you are able to control cost and pay for only the parts that best match your needs. While some vendors do allow you to customize a computer system, you are still limited to their selection of parts.
